David Erick Dámez- Biography

David Erick was born in Granada (Spain) but he began his music career in Madrid. His first experience playing Rock was with a Spanish band called Flor de Loto, although he was also interested in Jazz, so that he learned to play the piano with masters like Richard Krull and Pedro Ojesto, while studying harmony and composition. He also became a sound technician in these first years. Together with Gabrielle de Val and Iñaki de Miguel, David founded the band Yin-Yang, that was later going to be D`Val.
After D´Val split-up, he left Spain and began a new life in Miami (USA), where he has developed his music-career, sharing venues with musicians like Omar Sawaya or the bass-player Nestor Ritcher. His American experience has given him new perspectives that have arisen from his contact with the latest trends. In 2010 he has come back to Madrid to join The Val again, enriching the band with his creativity and mastery of keyboard-playing and working on arrangements and compositions.
